What I did on Christmas Day

Posted in Uncategorized on December 27th, 2009 by Miquel – Be the first to comment

This is the second year (in a row) I couldn’t go back home to celebrate these days with my family and friends. That’s the happy part of it, the sad part is that I spend christmas day’s afternoon correcting documents and stuff for my phD (within months) senpai Anderson. The picture shows one of the things a had to prepare without him even knowing about it. I also did one more “pleasant” (“unpleasant” too at some points) thing that day but I’m waiting for the pictures from my other senpai Yoshizaki.

Consecuencias

They are aaaall married

Posted in Japan, Kagoshima on January 26th, 2008 by Miquel – Be the first to comment

Last time we talked (well I mean, last time I talked to you, the one reading this blog) it was christmas, I was in Spain, and I was remembering all the stuff I like there. But things move one, I came back in Japan, Hyang Sun came to Japan too, and over all this things, my great friend Anderson got married with Yuko about a week ago.

I already uploaded the pics in the gallery here, and if you have the chance check Tom’s pics on Facebook.

The marriege was amazing, with all the stuff you expect whatching a hollywood movie, if Hollywood was in Japan. The marriage had everything: a christian style marriage, a wedding party, a proper japanes “drinking session”, and a karaoke. We started at 1pm and ended at 3am or something like that!

I enjoyed as much as I could the party since I was the presenter of it, introducing the speechers, the events, and all in japanese, and I was very happy to se my good friend really happy and enjoying it. Congrats to the happy couple and thanks for the great party we enjoyed to everybody there.

Posted in Uncategorized on November 8th, 2007 by Miquel – Be the first to comment

Posted in Japan, miyazaki on May 7th, 2007 by Miquel – 1 Comment

A week to remember! well, it’s not a week but since in Japanese the called last week holidays the GW (Golden Week or “goruden wiiku” as they say). And for my body it looked like a week, even more I think I become one year older.

basu2.jpgWe started on wednesday, with only too beers I got the same hang over you can get for a hole bottle of tequila… anyway, that night I stay the night over at Andersons’ house (start counting), then we continued on thursday. On thursday we meet Cecilias brother, who is visiting her here in Japan and Natalia, another exchange student studying in Miyazaki. Which was a coincidence ’cause we were going to Miyazaki that weekend. Anyway, we went to “Sunkus no mae” of course! and then, how not, to ONOYA, and then how not to Karaoke, and then how not to Gusto, and then, since I was going with Anderson to Miyazaki and Natalia was going to Sakurajima with the Kaikan guys next morning, I borrowed her my room and I went to sleep by Anderson’s house (this is the second one).

Well, let’s go! we woke up at 13:30 and we phoned for the last time Yukyong to tell her we were carrying the UNO with us, and she is crazy about it… but she couldn’t come >_< Anyway, we went to Miyazaki in 3 hours and a half (see the end of this article to see how long does it takes normaly). The arrival was great, Yuko’s mother and Yuko were waiting for us with the dinner ready to eat, and it was really “oishii”. We drunk beer till late and after explaining “okaasan” the rules for UNO we played again this damned game.

basu.jpgNext day we went to one of the largest hanging bridge in the world in Aya (south of Miyazaki), indeed it is really frightening. But after that we went to a drinkings factory were I tasted some wine, “sake”, and the best beer I’ve ever drunk in Japan. Then we meet Natalia (remember the brazilian girl from before) and we went to eat the typical food from Miyazaki, “yakitori chikin”, the most delicious chicken you’ll ever eat is there! And the we went to a Bar belonging to a friend of Yuko’s family so we enjoyed a lot there, and finally slept some…

After sleeping… 3 hours ^^ we merely woke up and got again on the road to com back to kagoshima were we had the wettest BBQ ever!!! TANOSHIKATTA NE

24h Anderson

Posted in Kagoshima, viajes on May 1st, 2007 by Miquel – 5 Comments

… and I’m stuck. It’s not that big deal, but 24 hours with this guy can change your mind forever, I mean, for bad. Plus, we were not alone, Yuko and Yukyong also turned to the dark side.

We started on Saturday 8pm by going to that korean restaurant named “Busan” here in Kagoshima, really superb delicious, but, using Yukyongs’ words the korean food is spicier here than in Korean, she can tell. We also meet there the restaurants’ Mama, which I also meet several times with Hyang Sun when I first come to Kagoshima. So we enjoyed a lot and drunk some korean “sake” by the way.

Until here everything was normal right, friends get together, going out for dinner, having fun… and then somebody says “why don’t we go to Andersons’s house and drink wine and eat Jamon (spanish ham) while playing UNO”. Maybe I should explain before that Anderson wasn’t drinking ’cause he was driving (eventhough looking like drunk ^^) and maybe that was unfair. Let’s com back to the main story, so we were there with that proposing over the table and… unfortunately it was still 11pm and the people weren’t in the mood for that so we decided to go karaoke (¡¡I know!!) to get in the mood. The result? satisfactory, everybody in the mood, we get our OTOMARISETTO (stay the night over set in japanese), since were going to stay the night over there obviously.

UNO, wine, ham, cheese, and … obviously fun till late! What’s next? we had appointed with Jin Wuk to help him with his moving at 11AM, and we did it! we woke up at 10, and we arrived in time, and thank god it was fast, after that we “decided” to go to the beach, wow! 2 hours in the car after that we got to a beach somewhere near Ibusuki (south of Kagoshima Prefecture).

The beach was in front of Kaimon (the so-called Fujisan of Kyushu), but it wasn’t that nice and there were no waves. So? we got into the car again and 1 hour after that we arrived to a beach near Makurazaki, the was nice of course and the view was really good, but we were hungry and became kind of ill, but no problem, Yukyong knew the best “soba-udon” restaurant in the world and we got directly to it. And with some food and healthier we came back home, sweet home…
